Digging for Family Roots (DFFR) Club

Our Heritage Park Digging for Family Roots (DFFR) Club is a family tree and ancestral research club. Our members are of various levels of knowledge and research backgrounds. We gather to teach and learn from each other. There will be monthly discussions and/or presentations regarding areas of family tree and ancestral search topics. Our club members share their discoveries and provide tips and resources. Our monthly meetings are conducted in the Fireside Room and they continue to be the third Wednesday of every month at 4:30pm.

Over the past several months, DFFR member, Lisa Pray, has been sharing her discoveries regarding her Family Tree magazine and her “The Great Courses” online class – “Discovering Your Roots: An Introduction to Genealogy.”

In addition to our DFFR club articles, we occasionally highlight various members’ and Heritage Park resident’s individual ancestral discovery stories, as well as their story matching photos. When available, you will find these amazing stories and photos in our monthly Herald under our” Digging for Family Roots” feature articles, or on our hpoa.biz website under Newsletters – The Heritage Park Herald. All Heritage Park residents are welcome to share their stories; you do not have to be a member of our DFFR Club. Please submit your stories to me in their final draft format via email at pikej@comcast.net.

Besides our monthly meetings, our HP- resident-only DFFR Facebook group was created: HP Digging for Family Roots. If you would like to join our Facebook group, please search for this group under Facebook groups and submit a request to join and I will accept your request.

If you are a Heritage Park resident and you are interested in becoming a member of our club or if you are just interested in discovering what we are all about, you are welcome to join us.

If you have any questions about our Digging for Family Roots club, please contact me, Club Chair Joy Pike, at pikej@comcast.net or 916-220-0024.
